Chvrches is officially back with a new album, ‘All The King’s Men,’ set for release on January 22 via Futures. It’s their first record since 2021’s ‘Screen Violence,’ which came after a period of solo pursuits—Lauren Doherty released solo material, and Martin Doherty launched the Leaving. The band’s return was teased with the recent single ‘Roses,’ their first taste of the upcoming LP, and a live debut of ‘Conman.’ The trio reconvened in Glasgow, where only Lauren now resides, after working remotely on their previous album. This time, they collaborated in person, which seems to have sparked renewed energy.

The album’s tracklist features 11 songs, including ‘Evil,’ ‘Adore You,’ ‘Overthinker,’ and the previously debuted ‘Conman,’ along with titles like ‘Royal Blue’ and ‘Jamie’s Prayer.’ The band also announced a lengthy tour kicking off in February in North America, with stops in major cities like New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, before heading to Europe, including UK dates in Glasgow, Dublin, Manchester, and London. This tour marks their first extensive run since the pandemic disrupted live music. Fans can pre-order the album now, with the record dropping just ahead of their tour schedule.

The band’s energetic live performances are documented in their videos, which fans can catch on YouTube once the tour begins. This tour is positioned as a significant moment for the band’s renewed focus on in-person connection and new material, signaling a fresh chapter after years of solo projects and remote work. Their return to Glasgow for recording underscores a desire to reconnect creatively as a band, tapping into their hometown energy.

The ‘All The King’s Men’ album represents a fresh chapter, blending the band’s signature synthpop sound with new influences and themes. The upcoming tour will see them perform tracks from the record, alongside fan favorites. The setlist is expected to reflect their evolving sound while maintaining the hooks that made them a staple in indie synth music. The album’s release and tour confirmation make it clear that Chvrches are not just back but poised to reinvigorate their place in the indie scene in 2024.
